For sale is a light-cardboard sign that advertises a public sale in Posey County, Indiana, that took place nearly a century ago. It was held on February 21, 1928, on the William C. Maurer farm, located west of Evansville, one mile west of the old West Franklin School. The sale was conducted by Wn. H. Dietz, representing Downen & Mentzer, auctioneers. Three horses, two cows and a sow were among the items up for bid. The sign measures 6 by 9 inches and is in fair to good condition, with several tears, one at the top being nearly 4 inches long.
